Type 2. Standard Series —
In use January 1834 to 1854.

This entire letter shows a Type 2c variant of the basic design which was in use from January 1836 to June 1838. In this type the frame was 24 x 24 with narrow, deeper corners.
Written by Thomas Peters at 6 Gt Ormond St. London to Capt H Shippard at 28 Rue de Laecken, Brussels, Belgium, the reverse of the cover shows two London datestamps, one of Angleterre Oostende and one of Bruxelles. A very interesting letter, this was the subject of an article by Eunice in in Stamp News in June 1998.

Dated 5th August 1844, this entire letter shows a type 2d variant of the basic design. The frame size is 24.5 x 24.5 and the C+ is 8mm wide.
Addressed to Rev'd George H O Pedlar, Friars Walk, Exeter, the letter reads:-
16, King William St. Charing Crofs
Aug't 5th 1844
Sir,
In answer to the favor of your letter of the 3rd we beg to inform you that Mr Flight will attend at Exeter — and have the honor to wait on you on Thursday (?)
We have the Honor To Be Yr Obd't Sevts
