Reading is another time-consuming pastime, and we belong to two branches of the public library and have our own collection of books. We read between 10 and 20 books a fortnight between us over a wide range of subjects.

The categories on our database for our book collection give a good idea of our interests :-

Geography, History, Humour, Motoring, Music, Mysteries, Mystic,
Nature, Poetry, puzzles, Philately, Reference, Science Fiction, Sport, Social history.

Favourite authors include many no longer living: Nevil Shute, Georgette Heyer, Jane Austen, Terry Pratchett, Dick Francis, Alistair Maclean, Jane Duncan, Agatha Christie, PG Wodehouse, Hammond Innes Ruth Rendell and Colin Dexter (Morse), Elizabeth Ferrars, R F Delderfield.

Living authors include Stephen Booth, Peter Robinson, Cynthia Harrod-Eagles, Alexander McCall Smith, Sheila Connelly, Donna Leon, Sue Grafton, Janet Evanovich.

We have found that many authors have their own websites/blogs/social media outlets and it is always worthwhile checking online to see when their latest books will be come available. We have exchanged e-mails with many of them over the years.

We read Non-fiction biographies and autobiographies, including many of ordinary people, as well as the rich and famous! So we were delighted to hear of this book and to have a signed copy from the author.
